A number of different tensioning units can be installed on the HUYS creels in order to cover a large span of yarn types and counts.

Self compensating tensioner, type DTR
The yarn tension remains constant on a given setting, both with cops and conical wound or cross wound packages. The tensioner permits the constant retention of the tension from a full to an empty bobbin, regardless of speed or bobbin size. Hence, it is the only true alternative to centrally controlled systems which request fully identical packages.

Tension peaks are absorbed by the hydraulic damping action of the compensating wing, leading to a smooth running of the yarn sheet.

Different types are available to suit a large span of yarn counts:

• DTR-600 for fine and delicate yarns from 5 up to 200 DTex

• DTR-1000 for medium yarn counts from 30 up to 1000 DTex
• DTR-Z for coarse yarns from 80 up to 5000 DTex

Adjustable Pole Tensioners, type PT-3
Universal pole tensioners with three adjustable poles, anti-ballooning disc and input and output ceramic eyes. These no-nonsense tensioners offer a price-competitive alternative for yarn numbers between 75 and 1000 DTex.

Electrical detection, type FRD
This cost-effective type has an excellent reaction time and is very universal. All the critical moving parts are hermetically closed. This type uses a mechanical dropper to generate the stop motion signal. A bright unbreakable LED-lamp on each stop motion rack indicates the vertical position of yarn break.

Photo-electrical detection, type FRO
This type is mechanically compatible with the FRD-type. has an excellent reaction time and is very universal. All the critical moving parts are hermetically closed. This type uses a mechanical dropper to generate the stop motion signal. A bright unbreakable LED-lamp on each stop motion rack indicates the vertical position of yarn break.

ELTEX MINI-SMG signal givers
This yarn stop motion detects the yarn movement by means of a piezoelectric element. The yarn moves through a ceramic eyelet. The yarn stop is indicated by a LED on the respective yarn position.

These units are self-learning: when the yarn has moved once, the MINI-SMG will remember eliminating the need for set-up switches. The yarns can be counted and the number shown on the central control unit or on a separate display.

HUYS delivers also different kinds of ceramic yarn guides and ceramic pieces. The yarn guides are made from Aluminum-oxid ceramic material. This material is very wear-resistant. The ceramic pieces can also be made from Titanium-oxid ceramic. This material has the additional property of being electrically conductive. This way, the building-up of static electricity is partly eliminated through these yarn guides. This material is commonly used when warping polyester yarns.
